AHC Survey on Staff Shortages - January 2022
In lobbying for the Visa/Sponsorship terms to change for our industry, the Government wants to see evidence from salon owners that have attempted to find staff.

The success of our lobbying relies heavily on responses from salon owners. Please complete this short survey by Monday 7 February 2022, and share it with any salon owners you know who are struggling to find qualified staff. We need a minimum of 100 responses. Thank you!

Please note: This survey is only for business owners who employ staff.

Hairdressing is currently on the Short Term Strategic Skills List. This means an international, sponsored stylist can only stay in Australia for two years with no pathway to residency. The AHC and many salon/barber owners feel we must be on the Medium to Long term list to allow a qualified stylist to be sponsored a minimum of four years. Do you agree that hairdressing needs to be changed from the Short Term Strategic Skills List to the Medium/Long Term Strategic List?
