Doll description

Artist ball jointed doll is an art and handmade object.

Inside the doll’s head there is the artist’s mark. Each doll is supplied with a certificate and a serial number included in the data base. Certificates guarantee the authenticity of every doll.

Doll bodies consist of resin parts assembled with elastic cords of different width, the connecting pieces (socket joints) are sueded with hot glue or genuine suede in order to reduce friction.

Hands, feet and faces of some dolls are replaceable pieces attached with magnets or threads. To replace faces one needs to carefully take if off with a little effort while holding the back of the doll’s head.
Hands and feet of some dolls are attached to the body with magnets. To take a hand or a foot off one needs to carefully pull it holding the ball joint. To put it back one needs to make sure the poles of the magnets in the hand (or foot) and in the ball joint match and carefully let them draw to each other. If they do not attach that would mean that the poles do not match and it’s necessary to turn the magnets so that the poles are correct.

All the magnets are glued in with cyanoacrylate adhesive and fixed with polymers that give very strong junction. Magnets might fall out which is extremely rare. This case cannot be considered a warrantable situation as one may easily fix it by glueing the magnets back with any strong adhesive.

The resin used includes a special UV-protective additive which improves the UV-resistance of the resin. However it does not affect the blushing and face ups, they may easily fade if exposed to UV that is why the dolls should not be put in the sun for a long time.

The dolls are casted from high quality resin hard on the Shore scale and vey resistant to stretching and bending. The smallest parts such as fingers, ears and thin pieces are at the most risk though and can be broken if the doll falls or otherwise handled harshly.

The doll is not a toy, it is not intended for children. Artist dolls are collectibles and demand careful handling.

Order placement and purchase conditions

1. The relationships between the maker and the buyer are regulated by the civil law of the Russian Federation (contractor’s agreement, Art. 702 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). In accordance with this the artist (the contractor) is obliged to make a doll according to the client's order, the client (the customer) is obliged to pay for the work and accept the doll.

All the conditions and details of the agreement are to be discussed beforehand, the client is obliged to fill in the order form. After filling in the form there can be no changes (nor the face, neither the colour of the doll can be changed). Exchange and return of proper quality dolls are non-refundable.

2. Payment.

There are several payment options.

Full payment.

Payment in instalments: when placing an order the client pays the down payment of 30% for the materials and other expenses. Other instalments are to be made during 2-6 months from the moment of placing the order. According to the Art. 381 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation in case of termination of the contract (order cancellation) initiated by the client the down payment is non-refundable.

Payment is made by the client by transferring funds to the artist’s bank details, which the latter provides via e-mail or any other type of correspondence after the order is placed.

3. Production.
All dolls are casted on a by-order basis, production time varies from 3 to 8 months. Full payment does not accelerate the speed of production. After the casted details arrive on the artist’s premises, they begin the sanding, sueding and assembling process. The full-paid dolls are assembled first. The after casting process takes up to two-four weeks. All the dolls have random eye colour.

4. Claims and complaints

After receiving the doll the customer is obliged to accept and examine the doll. In case there are any substantial defects the customer is to inform the artist immediately and provide photos of the defects.
In case of defects during use, all costs connected with their elimination (if possible) are made at the expense of the buyer.
The period of elimination of any defect is calculated individually and has approximate terms.

The list of substantial defects may include:
- pieces chipped, damaged;
- absence of pieces listed in the order;
- the colour of the doll not matching the one in the order (meaning a totally different colour from the skin tone range of colours);
- bright stains or color irregularity of the doll’s body.

If any of the above are detected the artist should eliminate defects on their own expense.

The list of substantial defects may NOT include:
- not matching colour of the doll’s body (meaning the same colour from the skin tone range of colours but perceived differently from screens of digital devices, colour reproduction or due to photography light);
- little stains, tiny bubbles;
- tiny scratches, printing marks;
- unsticking of magnets;
- unsticking of sueding.

5. Doll life cycle

If handled properly the doll’s life cycle has no limitations, the cord however which holds the doll parts together is an expendable material and may loose flexibility with time.

6. International disputes

According to the Art. 1211 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation if the customer is not a Russian Federation citizen, the relationships between the artist and the customer are regulated by the country of residence of the artist (Russian Federation).

7. Delivery.

The artist is not responsible for the amount of time taken by the postal services for delivery. In case the parcel is lost, the artist undertakes the responsibility to provide the customer with another doll. The parcel is considered lost only in case the postal services supply the artist with an official document stating the fact.
No law regulates the deadlines for international postal services that is why the delivery may take up to several months. During this period the customer is not permitted to open any disputes on the topic of slow delivery process.

8. Additional services.

Face up, blushing, wig making services are not provided on the by-order basis. Customarily along with the main pre-order dolls several full-set ones (with face ups, blushing, clothes and wigs) are produced.

Blushing and face ups are fulfilled with mixed media such as acrylic, watercolour and oil paints, soft and hard pastels and fixed with durable acrylic sealer.

The sealing only protects the blushing and face ups from coming off. The painted parts of the doll should not be exposed to frictions or corrosive substances such as or containing acetone, alcohol and other solvents. The painted doll may be cleaned with a cotton sponge dipped in clean water.

Fingertips are the most fragile and vulnerable parts, the paint there is most likely to come off first. To avoid it one should prevent any frictions between the hands and clothes or accessories of the doll. The painted doll should not be left on hard surfaces as it may also encourage scuff marks. Instead one always places the doll on soft surfaces.

After receiving the doll the customer is obliged to examine the doll and in case there are any substantial defects the customer is to inform the artist immediately and provide photos of the defects.

The list of substantial defects in blushing may include:
- blistering of the sealing coating;
- skinning of the paint coating.

The list of substantial defects may NOT include:
- scuff marks due to careless handling, exposure to corrosive substances, hard surfaces in direct contact with painted doll parts.

Life cycle of blushing and face ups has no limits and depends on the handling only.

Brightly dyed wigs if wet can dye objects they touch. At first little amount of hair may come out when being brushed. It is considered a standard situation.

Life cycle of wigs has no limits and depends on the handling only.

Doll accessories are 3D printed. Photopolymers are not as durable as resin and accessories and thin parts of mannequins can be easily damaged if dropped, bended or handled harshly. The most fragile parts of accessories such as eyelets in the shoes are most vulnerable and should be handled carefully. Photopolymers can be damaged by direct sunlight, so the accessories and mannequins should not be exposed to UV.

9. Dispute rules

If the customer detects any sufficient defect, they are obliged to contact the artist during one calendar day after receiving the doll and provide photos of the defects.

Deficiency reports may only contain precisely listed defects, no emotions or reasoning or other unnecessary information. If done otherwise, it prolongs the processing time and does not encourage prompt resolutions of disputable situations.

By placing an order the client confirms that they have read and acknowledged the doll description and agree to the present purchase conditions.

I accept your conditions and read the rules. Please confirm below. *
