Hello, my name is Cordelia Bristol and I am a first-year doctoral student in the International Education Ph.D. program at George Mason University. I am currently enrolled in EDRS 812: Qualitative Methods. For my summer-long project I am charged with engaging in virtual fieldwork centered on the impacts of COVID-19. As a trans woman myself, I am very interested in learning more about the impacts that COVID-19 has had on folks starting or seeking to start their medical transition during this time. If you began or sought medical transition services between March 1, 2020 to now, I would love to chat with you about your experiences. This will be a one-hour interview over Zoom, Webex, or Skype. International participants are welcome to participate. The interview will be recorded but will be stored securely on a password-protected external hard drive in a locked drawer. Your experiences, demographic information, and generalized location with a pseudonym may be used in a published work i.e. Alex is black, in their early twenties, describes themselves as non-binary, and is located in the Southern United States.

IRB approval is pending and the final interviews are subject to IRB approval. I am currently recruiting participants as the summer session is shorter than a full semester. Interviews will be conducted in the last week of June 2020.  Please know that this interview may bring up challenging encounters that you may have dealt with in seeking or engaging in healthcare that may or may not be affirming. Participants may disengage from the interview experience at any time and/or may choose to answer only the questions that they feel comfortable answering.

Note: Please be at least 18 years or older. While I value the experiences of our trans youth there are protocols related to researching the experiences of children that I cannot accommodate at this point in the study design.
