In 2018, The Professional Teachers’ Council (PTC) NSW in conjunction with the Minister for Education, introduced this prestigious award recognising an association that has distinguished itself by achieving all-round excellence.
To be eligible for consideration the nominating association MUST:
1. Be a financial* member associations of PTC NSW. *Those who have paid the PTC NSW Membership Subscription
(Capitation) fees for the current calendar year.
2. Nomination must be submitted online
3. Signed by the association's current President as Nominator 1 and another current Executive member of the Board/
Committee/ Council a Nominator 2.
4. Received by the closing date indicated for that year i.e. Friday 31 January 2020
Please note:
- This award is in recognition of an association and not an individual
- Incomplete nominations, those nominations received/sent after the due date will not be considered by the PTC NSW
Awards Committee.
- Joint nomination of two associations for one award will not be considered.
- The decision of the awards committee will be final.
- The awards committee may request for evidence to support the statements. Failure to provide evidence may result in the disqualification for the award.
Entry Criteria for 2019:
*Explain why your association should be considered for the award of the Association of the Year (max 1000 words)
*Mission and Vision: Outline the relationship between decision making, goal setting, strategic planning and stakeholders. (maximum of 1000 words)
*Governance: Describe and comment on the appropriateness and effectiveness of the association's governance structure, constitution, risk identification and management, Director's safeguards around confidentiality, code of conduct and conflict of interest policies and procedures. (maximum of 2000 words)
*Finance: Demonstrate your association's financial management commenting on transparency, systems and practices, performance and goals. (maximum of 1000 words)
*Management: Outline areas including succession planning, Board committee engagement, volunteer and or staff roles and policies, culture and leadership opportunities. (maximum of 1000 words)
*Professional Engagement: Success, goals, achievements and innovations in the areas of membership, member services, professional learning opportunities, key messages, evaluations , stakeholder engagement and advocacy. (maximum of 1000 words)
*Technology: Discuss the role, relevance, leverage and application of IT, privacy policies, security, membership engagement and long-term management strategies. (maximum of 1000 words)
*Communication and Influence: Outline the intention, marketing, integration, member and stakeholder engagement, planning and strategy related to mission, vision and values. (maximum of 1000 words)
