New Bilingual Program
The district is considering adding Spanish Language classes next year so students could learn a new language and/or develop skills in their primary language. The type of program we are looking at is called Foreign Language in Elementary School (FLES)   The FLES program would be taught by fully credentialed, bilingual teachers. It would provide classes in Spanish for both children who don't know any Spanish as well as for children who do speak Spanish.  The district is committed to investing in quality curriculum and professional development if there is an interest from the community. We would start the program with our youngest students and gradually add grades as the program grew. Please give us your valuable input.
