About OpenCSD
OpenCSD is a volunteer collective of researchers, clinicians, students, and educators in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) aspiring to educate others and foster the use of open science practices within our field. Open science has many stakeholders beyond the researcher, including students, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, administrators, policymakers, and the families and individuals served by speech-language pathologists and audiologists. When researchers embrace open science practices, it (1) increases transparency and reproducibility of the methods used in their research, (2) fosters collaboration across research lines, and (3) bridges the clinical and research gap across the CSD community by reducing research access barriers for clinicians. OpenCSD aims to promote open science practices within the CSD community through various initiatives, including the OpenCSD Podcast and the OpenCSD Journal Club.
