WORK it OUT - 5 years in a row, at impressive industrial heritage sites across Europe, many young people danced a previously rehearsed choreography to specially composed hip-hop music.  Livestream and social media provided real-time broadcast of the various dance performances. A competition rewarded the dance groups with the most likes with prize money. 

The closing ceremony of the 11th Advisory Forum of the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes in Chania/Crete recently brought a happy surprise for us: the "Best Practices Award 2022" for services to the industrial culture of Europe. In the section "Protection of Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis", the Europe-wide dance event WORK it OUT was particularly convincing.One of the deciding factors for the "Best Practices Award 2022" was that the dance event has been held annually since 2018 - even during the Covid 19 pandemic - and has generated a great response. Up to 40 industrial heritage sites from 9 to 15 European countries took part - we are very pleased about this.

Now the question is: How to continue? What can/ should we change? What should definitely remain?

WORK it OUT must fit for your as you fill it with life. The aim is to get young people excited about industrial heritage and your location. Your opinion, praise, criticism and suggestions are important to us. Therefore we would like to ask you to answer a few questions. Thank you very much.

WORK it OUT - 5 Jahre in Folge  haben an beeindruckenden Industriekulturstandorten in ganz Europa viele jungen Menschen eine zuvor einstudierte Choreografie zu eigens komponierter HipHop-Musik getanzt.  Livestream und Social Media sorgten für die Übertragung der verschiedenen Tanz-Performances in Echtzeit. Ein Gewinnspiel belohnte die Tanzgruppen mit den meisten Likes mit einem Preisgeld.

Die Abschlusszeremonie des 11. Advisory Forum der Kulturrouten des Europarates in Chania/Kreta brachte kürzlich für uns eine freudige Überraschung: den „Best Practices Award 2022“ für die Verdienste um die Industriekultur Europas. In der Sektion „Schutz des Kulturerbes in Zeiten der Krise“ überzeugte vor allem das europaweite Tanz-Event WORK it OUT.Ausschlaggebend für den „Best Practices Award 2022“ war unter anderem, dass das Tanz-Event seit 2018 jährlich stattfindet – auch während der Covid-19-Pandemie – und große Resonanz erzielt. Teilgenommen haben jeweils bis zu 40 Industriekulturstandorte aus 9 bis 15 europäischen Ländern - darüber freuen wir uns sehr.

WORK it OUT muss für Sie passen, denn Sie füllen es mit Leben. Sie sollen damit junge Menschen für Industriekultur und Ihren Standort begeistern. Uns stellt sich die Frage, wie es weitergehen soll. Was können/ sollen wir ändern? Was soll auf alle Fälle bleiben?
