GET HYPED! FASA's annual Culture Show is happening on March 26th, Sunday, from 6 to 8 PM in Commonwealth! Tickets will be $7 from now until March 24th, 2023. And don't worry — this isn't the only way to get tickets. We'll also be tabling in Sadler from March 20th to 24th. Tickets will cost $10 at the door. Dinner is included with your ticket. You may buy tickets for more than one person, but you must list EVERY NAME in the "name" section below. Please separate each name with a semicolon (ex. Yoon, Woojin; Viray, Kristi).
"Baliktanaw" follows Andrea Liwanag-Cruz, a Filipino American who, at best, has a tenuous relationship to her culture. Her grandmother, on the other hand, is famous in their neighborhood, which has a strong Filipino community. It seems like everyone has stories about Lola Lores. As Andrea spends more time with her grandmother, she learns about her Lola's past — which is broken into three vignettes — and slowly gains an appreciation for her family's resilience and her Filipino roots.
