What has happened to Dutch orchestral music in the concert halls in the 21st century? While during the 20th century a lot of Dutch music was being played and performed, much of that great work seems to have been forgotten by most orchestra's, musicians and audiences. Orkest van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug (OUH) wants to re-engage people with this Dutch cultural heritage and strives to promote the work of Dutch composers such as Johan Wagenaar, Richard Hol and Johannes van Bree, but also of compositions written on Dutch soil by composers currently active in the field of music.

What's in a name? We named the orchestra after the region of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (loosely translated 'Utrecht Hill Ridge'), the hilly area in which much of the eastern part of the province of Utrecht is located.

Therefore we are inviting musician to join the ranks of our new orchestral project. We are currently looking for musicians of all types of orchestral instruments to play in an up-and-coming performance of such works.
