FWAFA PTSO Executive Board meets the first Monday of each month on campus at 8:10 a.m. Virtual attendance is available. The Board consists of six executive officers working closely with six actively engaged coordinators and committee chairs. The positions listed below are accepting nominees for the 23-24 school year. Nominees must be members of FWAFA PTSO (follow this link to join PTSO for the current year).

Executive Officers
President
coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the organization
preside at all Meetings of the FWAFA PTSO
appoint the Parliamentarian and the Coordinator Positions (Directory, Resale, Family Ambassadors)
sign on bank accounts and contracts that have been approved by the Executive Board
Vice President – Fundraising
assist the President and carry out the President’s duties in the absence of the President and 1st
Vice President - Membership, or in their inability to serve
responsible for organizing and managing all school and Executive Board approved FWAFA PTSO fundraising events
work with the Executive Committee Chairs to ensure that all fundraising programs are being handled appropriately and in a timely manner
secure approval with the appropriate school Administrator and any other faculty and/or staff deemed necessary
supervise and report to the Executive Board on behalf of a Resale Coordinator.
Secretary
record the minutes of all Meetings of the FWAFA PTSO
keep an accurate record of attendance at Meetings
provide a copy of the Executive Board Meeting minutes to the Executive Board Members within seven (7) days following said Meeting
Treasurer
manage all funds of the FWAFA PTSO
keep books of accounts and records including bank statements, receipts, budgets, invoices, paid receipts and canceled checks in accordance with the Records Retention Policy
make disbursements in accordance with the budget adopted by the FWAFA PTSO
sign on bank accounts
present a financial report in written and verbal overview, at every Meeting of the FWAFA PTSO
Parliamentarian
advise the presiding officer on questions of parliamentary procedure
vote only when the vote is by ballot
keep a current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised at all meetings
Meeting attendance is mandatory
Committee Chairs
Communication Chair
maintain and monitor all social media accounts for the organization and coordinate and report to the Executive Board
provide PTSO information for inclusion in the Principal’s weekly newsletter to strengthen communication between the parents of the student body and the staff
possess a working knowledge of social media platforms and publishing electronic newsletter contents
possess effective communication and grammar skills
attend Executive Board Meetings if possible, but attendance is not mandatory.
Staff Appreciation Chair (2+ positions)
Organize the following teacher and staff appreciation events event include, but are not limited to: a) Monthly Staff Breakfasts b) Teacher Appreciation Week events
recruit volunteers to assist with appreciation events and event materials
attend Executive Board Meetings if possible, but attendance is not mandatory.
Social Committee Chair
plan and organize social events to strengthen relationships between students, families, and FWAFA staff and faculty, including, but not limited to, a back to school social event
plan and organize an annual volunteer appreciation event
attend Executive Board Meetings if possible, but attendance is not mandatory
Arts and Enrichment Committee Chair
coordinate the activities of enrichment programs for all grades
encourage participation in art, community service, speaker series and environmental projects
Coordinators
Uniform Resale Coordinator
manage the uniform resale closet and all (3) resale events per school year
recruit volunteers to assist with all resale activities and events
attend Executive Board Meetings if possible, but attendance is not mandatory
Spirit Shop Coordinator
design and procure a local company to make branded FWAFA merchandise approved by the PTSO Executive Board
attend Executive Board Meetings if possible, but attendance is not mandatory
