RSVP: So You Want to Write a Book (Or Learn How It’s Done)

Monday, May 6 | 3PM
Cramer Hall 250
1721 SW Broadway, Portland

The publication of a book is a milestone in the career of a scholar. It represents years’ worth of research, writing and rewriting amid the competing demands of teaching, service and other projects.

Join us as three humanities faculty give us a glimpse into the journey of bringing their book to life: the ups, the downs and the unexpected.

Our panelists are:

Maurice Hamington, professor, Philosophy
Revolutionary Care: Commitment and Ethos (Routledge, 2024)

John Ott, professor and chair, History
The Medieval Clergy, 800-1250: A Sourcebook (Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, April 2024)

Cristina Herrera, professor and chair, Chicanx/Latinx Studies
Welcome to Oxnard: Race, Place, and Chicana Adolescence in Michele Serro's Writings (University of Pittsburgh Press, May 2024)

This event is part of Research Week, an annual celebration of the researchers who help make our University great. Explore more 2024 Research Week events.
