Creating a sense of belonging and inclusion through student leadership event planning. We hope to provide students with the tools needed to take event ideas, be it an assembly, a welcome back social, activity night, or spirit week to their school leadership with a detailed plan of how to implement an inclusive event.

In this course students will participate in a project-based learning opportunity to learn the ins and outs of school event planning. Through this project they will have opportunities to choose an event they would like to plan for their school. They will develop a finished project/storyboard that outlines all the needs and wants of their event.

This course will provide life skills such as budgeting, organizing, teamwork, communication, anticipating problems and paying attention to details. We will have students examine how events can include individuals from all walks of life and accommodate any special needs that may need to be addressed.

This is a hands-on class for all students, regardless of experience!.

Students will be provided materials for the course as needed.

Students will have a snack break during the session.
