Parent Session: Navigating through the Digital World
During the week of May 27-June 1, the City of Toronto in partnership with the Toronto Public Library, Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, and many other organizations will be celebrating Digital Literacy Week.

Digital Literacy is an essential skill for individual empowerment, participation in society and improved livelihood. As the educational needs of society evolve, we must prepare for these changes so that all Torontonians can have the chance to succeed in a digital economy. Digital Literacy Week builds on the success of last year’s first-ever Digital Literacy Day in Toronto. Across the city, it showcases free digital and technology programs and services. During this week we celebrate Toronto’s innovative and digitally-inclusive organizations and how they help Torontonians of all ages connect to opportunities.

The TCDSB staff and students will be participating in a variety of activities throughout this week. Parents can participate in an evening of learning on Wednesday, May 29th at the Catholic Education Centre, from 6:30 - 8:45 pm. This evening will focus on supporting parents with navigating the digital world and is a prelude to a future event planned for the upcoming Fall and start of the next school year.

Please take a moment and review the sessions available, then submit your selections!

Sincerely,

21st Century Learning Department
