Leadership Statement and Banquet Information
Why do the two of you want to lead the Graduate Student Government at Georgia Tech? This is your statement of candidacy and will be published on the SGA website. *
We will submit our platform document prior to the close of the application (Sun Mar 21st, 5pm) via email to the Graduate Chief of Staff and Elections Chair and acknowledge that our declaration of candidacy is not valid until this occurred and confirmation of receipt has been issued. *
Submit platform document as PDF to marc.muehlberg@gatech.edu --- While a document has to be submitted, no layout guidance, topic requirements or length limitations are in place for platform documents and are up to the discretion of the ticket. While the platform document may repeat the statement of candidacy, submission of the statement through this form alone does not qualify as platform document.
Are both of you able to attend the MANDATORY election orientation meeting on Monday March 22? *
The meeting will take place via BlueJeans on Monday March 22 at 10am (time of the meeting can be changed by mutual agreement of Elections Chair and all eligible tickets; multiple meeting can be held and can also occur prior to the deadline to accommodate all tickets by discretion of the Elections Chair). Per the Elections Code, attendance in the orientation meeting is mandatory.
Are you able to attend VOLUNTARY election outreach events accessible to all tickets and hosted by Graduate SGA between Monday March 22 and Wednesday March 24? *
Graduate SGA, especially in the case of contested elections, may host outreach events such as town halls for the student body to inform themselves about the candidates platforms and ask questions. Such events would occur in the time between the close of the applications and the opening of polls from Monday March 22 to Wednesday March 24. Events organized by Graduate SGA, while offering a organized setting for all tickets to be confronted with each other in front of the student body, are not mandatory to attend for tickets and do not limit the ability of tickets to organize their own campaigning.
Are both of you able to attend the official transition event between April 26 and May 6? *
Graduate SGA usually holds a End-of-Year Banquet including the transition from one administration to another. Similar to Spring 2020, the event overall will likely be held virtual again; however, limited in-person attendance including the incoming President and EVP could be possible. It will likely being held on Monday May 3rd, but no final decision on a date between April 26th and May 6th has been made yet. Will you both be able to attend this event if elected?
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
