Washington Award for Vocational Excellence Reviewer Recruitment
The Washington Award for Vocational Excellence (WAVE) was created by the Legislature almost 35 years ago to recognize student excellence in career and technical education in both high schools and community and technical colleges. The WAVE award pays for up to two years (six quarters or four semesters) according to the tuition charged by the institution students will attend, plus required service and activity fees–up to $11,000 per year. This funding, which varies by school, can be applied toward most undergraduate expenses at a public or private college or university, or licensed private career school in Washington. Additional information about the award may be accessed at http://wtb.wa.gov/wave.

The application process for 2022 is underway until May 6. The state's Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board (WTECB) is recruiting application reviewers to select awardees for this year during the second and third weeks of May. We will offer an online training for reviewers during the first week of May (a recording will also be made for those unable to join).

If you are interested in volunteering your time and service as a reviewer, please share your name and contact information below. The Workforce Board staff will follow up with information on the Reviewer Training Session and expectations of review teams later this month!

Thank you for helping select outstanding CTE students for this exciting opportunity!
