BGPS Curriculum Adoption Committees Application
The district is seeking volunteers to review and provide input on curricula for three subject areas. Volunteers can apply to serve on one of three committees. Each committee will be responsible for reviewing one subject area:
  • English Language Arts curricula for grades K–8
  • Social Studies curricula for grades 5–6 and 8
  • Social Emotional Learning curricula for grades K–8
For each committee the district will select three parent/community members in addition to teachers and administrators.

Each committee will meet eight times with additional "homework" expected to be completed outside of meetings. All meetings will be held on Tuesdays, 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., between Sept. 13, 2022 and April 18, 2023. Participants are also expected to attend the board meetings for adoption, likely in May and June.

Applicants will be selected in a two-step process: Step 1) Application information. Applications are due no later than Aug. 28, 2022. Step 2) Possible follow-up interview for the finalists from Step 1.

The district anticipates selecting committee members by Sept. 1.
