The 86th season of The Lost Colony is specifically seeking local talent in the Outer Banks community to participate in the production. Come audition for this Outer Banks tradition. 

AUDITION: February 25, 2023 - Manteo High School @ 11am (Check-in begins at 10:30am)

Rehearsals: May 8 – June 1, 2023 (some roles will begin May 2), Performances: June 2 – August 26, 2023 

ROLES: Seeking performers to portray The Storyteller*, Eleanor Dare, John Borden, Old Tom, Manteo*, Wanchese*, Ananias Dare, Governor White, Simon Fernando, Queen Elizabeth, Sir Walter Raleigh, King Wingina*, Captain Philip Amadas, Captain Arthur Barlowe, Dame Colman, Ralph Lane, Agona*, Father Martin, Joyce Archard, Sentinel. 

ENSEMBLE: Seeking singers, actors, dancers of all ages (any ethnicity) to portray colonists, British soldiers, members of the Royal Court. Also seeking actors, performers, drummers of Native American Descent of all ages including Pow Wow Dancers. Acro, stage combat, and puppetry skills a plus. Also, seeking a fire specialty act.

YOUTH ENSEMBLE: Seeking youth singers, actors, dancers (any ethnicity) to portray multiple roles.

*All Native American roles will be cast with indigenous performers

COVID-19  All employees must be fully vaccinated and show a negative PCR test result prior to reporting for work and/or moving into company housing.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Choose ONE of the SIDES from this folder to deliver (it does NOT need to be memorized). If you also sing, prepare a short 16-bar song showing you at your best. Bring music for an accompanist to play, or sing a capella. You will also do a brief movement call so wear clothing (and shoes) that you feel comfortable moving in.
