Kenya Environmental Activists Network invites you for a strike/action during the Global Climate Strikes, 25 September 2020. Our action follows the recent New York Times Expose where the American Chemistry Alliance, a shadow coalition of big oil companies like Shell,

Exxon and BP are pursuing the US state department of trade to use the US-Kenya

trade deal to loosen the Kenyan plastic ban thus using Kenya to transport their plastic.

On September 25th, we the youth from KEAN will be coming together to demand an end to petro-colonialism and invoke the Kenyan Ministry of trade to not accept this. Join us and demand for your right to a clean & healthy Environment; one that is free from plastics and plastic colonialism/ slavery!


NB: We note that, due to the current Covid-19 restrictions for social gatherings, we can only have 50 people participating in the physical strike. However, we shall even have a bigger momentum at the digital version of our strike which will follow immediately when we finish the on-ground actions in Nairobi :)


What: A hybrid event/ action starting off with a physical action/ strike in Nairobi(Ministry of trade/
 US Embassy), a petition/ letter delivery to both, then followed by a zoom strike to share
 on-ground experiences, pictures and videos from the physical demonstration with the global community.
