香港理工大學將緊密夥拍場地持有者市區重建局及主要營運與管理者華懋集團，攜手合作，在這歷史悠久的中環街市主辦一系列創意與設計活動。

香港理工大學設計學院累積超過50年的創新創意產業和設計學研究、人脈、網絡，將發揮統籌、召集、策展、聯繫的作用，帶領眾多持份者和單位共同參與發揮。是次項目名為 <設計中 DESIGNING CENTRAL>，以四大活動為主線，當中包括:

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will organise a series of creative and design activities in this historic building - Central Market with the venue owner, the Urban Renewal Authority, and the operator, Chinachem Group.

The School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has been involved in innovative & creative industries and design research, contacts, and networks for over 50 years. It will oversee the project through convening, curating and coordinating. It will also take the lead with all stakeholders and units to participate in the development. Envisaged as "Designing Central", this project consists of four major activities with major components including:
