PA Master Naturalist Annual Meeting                   Call for Presentations                                                 Pittsburgh - November 9-10, 2019
About Pennsylvania Master Naturalist
Pennsylvania Master Naturalist is a statewide partnership initiative that aims to connect people with their local ecosystems through intensive natural science training and local conservation service work.  It is a venture directed toward developing a local corps of “master volunteers and service providers” to offer education, outreach and service dedicated to the understanding and conservation of natural resources and natural areas within their communities.

A Pennsylvania Master Naturalist volunteer is an individual with a passion for the natural world who participates in an intensive training program and uses his or her knowledge by giving back to the community through volunteer service.

Annual Meeting Overview
Our Annual Meeting is a celebration of our volunteers as well as an opportunity for them to grow their naturalist knowledge, exchange ideas with others, and obtain tools to enhance their volunteer service work.  Whilst our primary audience comprises certified PA Master Naturalist volunteers and trainees, members of our partner organizations may also attend.  The meeting is hosted annually in different regions of Pennsylvania where Master Naturalist training occurs and ranges between 70 - 100 participants. Our program of talks and field trips will reflect this year’s theme, “Navigating PA’s Changing Waterways”.

Presentations typically include topics on the theme of the meeting, natural history of the local region, natural area management and natural resource conservation, information on volunteer projects, skill development in nature interpretation, education and communications; hands-on activities, field-based learning, and tools and resources.
