Want to help make Central Park a better place to live and work? Do you want to see more community voices represented in development and local government decisions? If so, consider applying for a seat on the Central Park United Neighbors (CPUN) Board of Directors.

CPUN is seeking to increase geographic and demographic diversity on the board. We particularly encourage Central Park residents to apply who are renters, live in income-restricted housing units, live within neighborhoods north of I-70 or within the North Aurora portion of Central Park, and/or who are part of historically under-represented groups within our community due to racial/ethinic identity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

WHAT IS CENTRAL PARK UNITED NEIGHBORS?
Central Park United Neighbors (CPUN) is the Registered Neighborhood Organization for the Central Park community. CPUN provides a working forum for the residents of Central Park to participate in creating, developing and fostering a vibrant urban community dedicated to social equity, environmental responsibility and economic opportunity. At monthly meetings, CPUN facilitates the discussion of key issues with neighbors, engages in proactive problem-prevention, and amicable problem-solving. CPUN is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community. 

Our mission is to work for the betterment of this community in the City and County of Denver by providing:

- A forum for the residents living in Central Park to discuss and resolve issues.

- A network of communication.

- A means of acting on matters of importance to the community as a whole.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR CPUN BOARD MEMBERS?
The time commitment varies by board member and the committees they join, but generally, board members must all:

 - Attend our monthly community meetings (2 hours/month)

- Chair or serve on at least one CPUN committee (1 hour monthly meetings + events)

- Attend and help out with CPUN-sponsored community events and forums (2-3 times per year)

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO RUN FOR THE CPUN BOARD?
The application process entails:

- Filling out this initial interest form.

- Submitting a bio and 200-word statement describing why you would like to join the board.

- Interviewing with current CPUN board members.

Statements of interest and bios of nominated candidates will be published online on CPUN’s website at www.Central ParkUnitedNeighbors.com.
