This is the registration form for the mentoring programme of the Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) chapter of St Andrews and Stirling. We aim to provide support for students belonging to disadvantaged or underrepresented groups in philosophy.

To help make philosophy a more inclusive discipline, the mentoring programme provides disadvantaged students with the opportunity to talk to someone who had to go through the same, to share experiences and to discuss how we can make philosophy a more welcoming place for everyone.

The mentoring programme will not primarily provide you with additional philosophical support. Your mentor will not read your essays or discuss your dissertation with you. Instead, you can talk to your mentor about your experiences in philosophy, share what makes you feel uncomfortable, discuss what it is like for someone like you to do philosophy and hear your mentor’s own stories and advice about entering the discipline.
