Team Expectations
Season:
Robotics will begin on Tuesday, August 30 and we are limited to 16 student participants. Competition season will run through mid-November depending on the date of our regional qualifier OR through January for the State Semi-finals and State Championships.
Attendance:
We meet after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Late bus is available or parent pick-up at 3:30 pm. If additional meetings are needed as the season progresses, the students will need to picked up and we will communicate A.S.A.P.
Regular attendance at our team meetings is vital – Students must be reliable.
Some work outside of team hours may be required (such as; research, interviews, preparation) – you must be committed and responsible and attend the competitions as well during the weekend.
Teamwork:
FLL’s Core Values (
http://firstlegoleague.org/mission/corevalues) stress teamwork, so
you must be committed to collaborating with your fellow robotics teammates.
You will need to work with others to find compromise and be able to give and receive positive/constructive feedback as your team develops their solutions – you must be a respectful team player
Your ability to work hard as part of a team to complete whatever task needs to be addressed is essential – you must be flexible.
Students do the work at FLL, so you will be expected to multi-task and take on responsibilities outside of your comfort zone – you must be willing to learn and grow.
Behavior:
You will be representing your school during our team meetings and at competitions, so your
behavior must be exemplary at all times – you must make right choices
