In response to the recent flooding, numerous churches and associations, both from Kentucky and other states, want to partner with affected churches and communities to assist in the cleanup and rebuilding efforts. The Kentucky Baptist Convention has developed a plan to help KBC churches and associations receive needed resources. There are many resources available including building materials, volunteers, skilled labor, financial, and prayer. The goal of the KBC is to be good stewards of all resources so they may be used to impact the kingdom. The plan of the KBC is to work directly with our churches and associations as they minister to their local communities.
1.
Financial grants are available to KBC churches or associations as they work to repair/rebuild their property or assist those in the community in local projects.
2.
Grant request forms are available from the KYDR office or online. For more information, please visit
www.kybaptist.org/flood.
3.
Grants will only be issued to a KBC church or association. A team has been selected to administer the approval and distribution of funds.
4.
A KBC church or association may apply for multiple grants as they work in the community on a project-by-project basis.
5.
There are resources available to churches or associations, such as donated building materials, skilled and unskilled volunteers, equipment, church furnishings, etc. Contact KBC Disaster Relief Director, Ron Crow if you have a specific need as the resource list changes often.
6.
The local church or association will be the coordinator/overseer of the local rebuild projects. KYDR will be a resource that supports the local church or association in their ministry.
7.
Church-to-church partnerships and other mission opportunities, including rebuild projects, can be found at
www.kybaptist.org/go.
8.
The KBC local church should keep the local association and KYDR informed of progress being made for reporting purposes.
9.
Ministry supplies such as Bibles, tracts, etc. will be available upon request to assist in the local ministry outreach. We do not want finances to be a hindrance to ministry outreach.
10.
Grants will be awarded as long as funds are available.
Please give as much information and detail as possible regarding your request. Answer the following questions where applicable. Attach any supporting documentation to this form.
