Ages: Gilbert Arts Academy’s Kindergarten Readiness Program (KRP) is specifically tailored to the needs of four (4) & five (5) year old children preparing to enter Kindergarten. Students must be four-years-old by August 31, 2020 to enroll. *
Curriculum: The KRP program introduces children to the concept of school in a playful  and nurturing environment.  Our classroom provides a learning community where children grow together.  They begin to consider the world outside themselves as they forge new friendships and explore thematic units in a well balanced curriculum. To prepare children for kindergarten we build the child's number sense and alphabet knowledge through hands-on activities, songs, poetry and games.  These foundations are integrated into thematic units that raise their awareness. Weekly themes will excite their curiosity and engage their minds using math, reading and language arts concepts! Pro-social behaviors are taught and encouraged through play-based learning activities. *
Snacks: There are two snack periods a day. Parents are responsible for providing snacks for their child. There is a refrigerator available. However, food cannot be heated. Students are not allowed to share food to limit potential dangers from food allergies. *
Lunch Program: Gilbert Arts Academy participates in the National School Lunch Program. Lunches are preordered at $3.00 per day.  There is a refrigerator available. However, meals cannot be heated. Students are not allowed to share food to limit potential dangers from food allergies. Please do not send candy or soda. Lunch is served Monday- Thursday at 10:40am. Students must pack lunches on Fridays. *
Student Sign-In & Sign-Out:  Parents/Guardians may access the KRP room via the west gate during drop-off and pick-up times. Or the front gate during school hours. The Arizona Department of Health Services requires parents/guardians to escort their child to the program room and sign them in or out where indicated. A photo ID is required of any person(s) authorized to pick up your child. Authorized persons must be at least 18 years of age. *
Fees:  There is a $100 non-refundable registration fee due upon enrollment. This will be applied to the first month’s tuition. 10% discounts for siblings. Tuition payment may be made by credit/debit card, cash, check, money order, or cashier’s check. Payments are due the first school day of each month- August through May. Students will not be permitted to attend class unless payment has been made to the office. KRP is a full- time program. The fees for the program have been calculated on the cost of operation and curriculum. For those reasons, refunds and/or reduced rates for vacations during school time, or illness will not be made. There will be a charge of $25.00 for any check returned by your bank as unpaid for insufficient funds or any other reason. After a check has been returned once, you will be responsible for paying in cash or by money order for the remainder of the school year. *
KRP tuition: $600 is due on the 1st school day of each month *
Disenrollment: Withdrawal from the program must be made in writing with thirty (30) day notice. Refunds will not be made for any partial months attended. *
Discipline Guidelines: We implement the positive behavior plan (PBIS) school-wide at Gilbert Arts Academy. PRIDE: Purpose, Respect, Integrity, Daring, Excellence. We have seen great results and improvements in children’s behavior utilizing this system. For more information, please see our website: http://www.gilbertartsacademy.com/pbis-positive-behavior-interventions-system.html. If your child hurts another child or is being disruptive, a redirection of his/her behavior will be offered. If he/she continues, a three or four minute timeout will be given. If the teacher feels there is a major discipline problem, the parent/guardian will be called. Parents will be expected to come and pick up their child and take them home for the remainder of the day. If your child continues to exhibit poor behavior that is consistently disruptive to the learning environment, the School Leader has the right to withdraw the student from the program. There are no tuition refunds due to suspensions. *
