Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! This form is to allow you to request a preference for your electives for next year. Please remember that this form is a request, you are not guaranteed to get your top choice. Academic classes will be prioritized over electives and class size will be taken into account. However, we have expanded the elective choices we are offering and we will do our best to place you in electives you are excited about!

You need to speak with your parent regarding elective choices for next year. By submitting this form, you are stating you have discussed these choices with your parent and are in agreement about your preferences.

Please read these descriptions of your elective choices:

Dance-- Learn the basics of structured movement, touching on a variety of dance styles. Primarily focused on ballet.

Chorus- Love to sing? Do you want to learn how to sing? This is the class for you!

Band- Learn how to play an instrument and participate in a group band atmosphere.

Exploring Music- Do you love music but don't want to play an instrument? This class explores music theory, history and different genres of music.

Outdoor Pursuits- Are you an active student? Do you love PE and being outside? This class focuses on learning classic outdoor activities.

Spanish- Learn a strong foundation in Spanish and how to learn a foreign language preparing you for your high school foreign language requirements.

Chinese- Learn a strong foundation in Chinese and how to learn a foreign language preparing you for your high school foreign language requirements.

Science Explorations- This is a STEM lab class. The focus first semester is to complete a science fair project and the focus second semester is to experience different science disciplines and career pathways.

Leadership Development- This class focuses on how to be a leader in your school including organizational skills, computer skills, and communication skills. This class is mandatory for all 6th graders but is open to 7th and 8th graders.
