Y Staff & Volunteer -Background Check Request
As part of our continuing commitment to keeping children safe, The Family YMCA requires periodic background checks for ALL staff and volunteers.  Our background checks are conducted through Praesidium Inc, a national organization that works with YMCAs, summer camps, churches,  and other youth serving organizations to increase child protection standards.

After you submit this form, one of our staff will enter your name and email into the background check portal. This will begin the process by sending you an email with a secure link to Praesidium's website where you will enter the information required for the background check.
  • Please submit your info as soon as you receive the email with the link from support@praesidiuminc.com
  • When submitting your info, it speeds up the background check process if you answer the drivers license information question
  • You do not need to answer the Race or Gender questions
  • The process checks your information through national criminal and sex offender databases, Los Alamos County criminal records, and checks data bases for any counties where you have lived in the last 7 years
  • Results can take anywhere from several hours to several days
  • After you have submitted your info, you will receive an email with a link where you can track the progress of the back ground check
  • For more information about the background check process click here
  • If you would like a copy of the report you can request it through Praesidium using this form
