Summer Reading Buddies 2022: Big Buddy Application

Thank you for your interest in the Scugog Memorial Public Library's Reading Buddies Program for Summer 2022! Please fill out this form if you are interested in being a Big Buddy this summer. We are looking for teens entering grades 9-12 this fall for this volunteer position.

Each Big Buddy will be paired with one Little Buddy for the duration of the 4-week program. Each meeting will take place for approximately one hour in person here at the Scugog Memorial Public Library in Port Perry. The sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 5:00pm-6:00pm (July 21, 28, August 4, and 11). For our big buddies there will be a training/orientation session on Thursday, July 14th from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

There is also the opportunity to gain an extra 30 minutes of volunteer hours by setting up chairs for the library's movie nights following reading buddies from 6:00pm-6:30pm.

The volunteer hours earned through this program can be used towards completion of the volunteer hours needed for the OSSD.

Deadline for applications is Thursday July 7th, at 11:59pm.
