Juneau Coop Preschool Registration Form 2020-2021 School Year
Welcome!  We are glad you are interested in joining our school. The Juneau Community Preschool, Inc. (doing business as the Juneau Co-op Preschool – aka JCP) is a nonprofit organization that relies on participation and cooperation from all of it’s members (families).  For more than 30 years, teachers, parents, grandparents, alumni and community members have worked cooperatively to provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate, play-based preschool program for children ages 3-5.  We invite you to call or visit our preschool and ask us any questions you have.  

For the 2020-2021 school year, JCP will offer three enrollment options to better meet the varied needs of our families and community:

Three Day Morning Class: Mon/Wed/Fri, 9am – 12pm, $225 per month
Two Day Morning Classes: Tues/Thus, 9am – 12pm, $150 per month
Five Day Full Day Classes: Preschool Plus M-F, 9am-3pm - $825 per month

Preschool Plus students will participate with the larger group each morning, followed by small group time that includes eating lunch (brought from home), resting and engaging activities.

All families are required to help in the classroom, take responsibility for a family job(s), and participate in fundraisers.  In-class workday requirement vary by enrollment sizes, but families should plan on approx. 12 days per year in Preschool Plus, 12 days for MWF and 8 days for T/Th.

Families for whom regular enrollment isn’t a good fit may apply for a space-available, $25/day, substitute space in the MWF of T/Th classes.  To do so, please complete application and select substitute only option.

ALL CLASSES ARE FILLED BY LOTTERY, SEE DEADLINES BELOW:

Current Students:  Registration form for continuing students are due Friday, April 10th to ensure your position in the first round of the lottery which will be pulled Sunday, April 12th with notifications being made Monday, April 13th.

New Students: To participate in the second round of the lottery, your application must be received at the preschool by Friday, April 24th, with the lottery pull happening Sunday, April 26th, with notifications being made Monday, April 27th.

The application must be complete and accompanied by a $45 nonrefundable check to Juneau Coop Preschool for inclusion in the lottery.  Applications received after the deadline will be considered, as space is available, on a first come, first serve basis.

Juneau Coop Preschool membership is open to families of any race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender orientation, or marital status, with children between the ages of 3 and 5 years who are willing to pay fess when due (or qualify for tuition assistance) who comply with health rules, and to do their share of the requirements agreed upon by members.

FINANCIAL AID: JCP has limited financial aid available to assist families who could not otherwise afford to send their child to preschool.  A portion of preschool tuition and fundraising is used to provide this assistance.  We encourage families who place a priority on preschool, but are truly unable to pay, to apply for tuition assistance. We do ask that families to consider applying for state and/or Tlingit & Haida assistance if qualified. The financial aid application is available at the preschool.  Confidentiality of your application is maintained.
