It’s cold out, and the weather puts a huge burden on our houseless neighbors - multiple people have already died from hypothermia and exposure this year. An easy way to help is to donate your unused cold-weather gear to community organizations that will take it directly to people in need. We are currently looking for coats, hats, gloves, unused socks, tents, tarps, and sleeping bags. If you donate, these items will either be distributed directly to camps in District 4, or will be given to community groups serving other districts/areas/camps to distribute, depending on need.
We ask that you donate in good faith - only items that are in good condition that you think would be useful for living outside please.
We have drop-off locations in a few neighborhoods - if you choose one of these options, we can direct you to them. If you would rather have someone pick up your donations, please leave your address and availability!
