VP of Professional Development *

Jessie Kaur - "As a new student at DU, BAP very quickly became a community for me where I was able to connect with both my peers and different companies all across Colorado. I have personally found the weekly information sessions to be very insightful and engaging. By being a part of the BAP team, I want to make the most of my experience and give back to the community that has been so resourceful to me. Having understood the importance of the weekly sessions from last quarter, I am well aware of the responsibility of scheduling events in a timely manner through efficient communication with the firms. I believe that by taking on the role of Professional Development, I will be able to assist the team by engaging with firms and providing an ease of scheduling these events. My goal is to be resourceful and make the experience of other members and firms a successful one."

Treasurer *

Shana Park - "I am currently serving as the VP of Reporting and would like to move on to running for VP of Treasury. For the short time I have been part of BAP, I really enjoyed networking and learning new professional development skills such as how to work at home during COVID and stay motivated. As the reporter, I got a chance to learn more about the BAP intranet and how the organization functions. Through my past jobs and experiences, I have learned to collaborate, communicate, and organize. I have served as president and secretary of French Honor Society back in high school. I was responsible for running club meetings, managing all the administrative duties, and communicating information among the members, club sponsors, and the activities office. Furthermore, I currently work at the Center for World Languages and Cultures, where I tutor students who are enrolled in French and Korean classes at DU to improve their writing and speaking skills in either language. I am also a Language Partner for the DU DILS (Directed Independent Learning Studies) program, where I collaborate with students to create a learning goal and mentor them to achieve those goals for 10 weeks."

Patrick Carpenter - "I am interested in this position because I would like to further my involvement in the group. Additionally, I believe that helping new candidates and interested students would be a fulfilling way to give back and be of service. I think I would be an excellent candidate for this role because I was new to the group not too long ago so I can relate to new members. I also believe that I have learned a lot from being involved in Beta Alpha Psi and can pass on this knowledge through the Membership Officer role."

Sofia Nosack - "I am really excited about this opportunity to not only foster community among the BAP members but to build connections between students and firms. I hope to help students find the firm that best fits them and that will help both parties better reach their goals. I am looking forward to putting on fun events that will hopefully improve BAP participation and that will draw new members to join. I believe that my planning, time management, and leadership skills that I have developed as a student-athlete at DU and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee will help me be successful in this new role."

Sonja Kuranz - "I developed a passion for service during high school as my school really encouraged serving the poor and vulnerable. In college, I have continued to serve the community of Denver at the Veteran Services Center. I hope to share the joy that can come from volunteering with other members of BAP. Overall, I think I would be a great fit for the service officer position as I am responsible and enthusiastic about volunteering."

Elma Spahic - "Prior to transferring to DU, I had the opportunity to be a part of many leadership events held at the school to get students involved and help them flourish in their business careers. I believe this position and my interest in tax will help serve the community and provide them with basic tax knowledge during the busy spring season. Overall, I believe that I would be a great fit for this VITA position due to my drive in the tax industry and my compassion to help others."

Kate Daniels - "During high school, I had the chance to serve in many leadership capacities that focus on getting students involved with the school and community. I believe this is the perfect position for me to really give underclassmen the chance to learn more about and join BAP early on in their time at DU. Overall, I would be a great fit for this prep position due to my previous experience and my drive to get others involved."
