Our _Liberty, Legacy, Leadership_ conference from 15 to 19 June 2020 already offers all Majority World participants a scholarship rate for the conference fee (£240) and accommodation (£125). Additionally there are a minimum of 15 grants of £265 to reduce these costs to £100. It is also possible to attend the pre-conference for all on the scholarship rate for £40 and this reduces for £25 for those awarded a grant.

*** Majority World: this term is similar to term 'Global South' but for our conference includes all 'Developing Economies' and 'Economies in Transition' listed in the 2019 UN World Economic Situation Prospects ( https://www.un.org/development/desa/dpad/wp-content/uploads/sites/45/WESP2019_BOOK-ANNEX-en.pdf ), which includes most of the nations of the world that are categorised by the UN as from all the many regions of African, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and also some nations of south-eastern Europe and all the Commonwealth of Independent States (which includes the Russian Federation) and Georgia.

These grants are made available thanks to the assistance of the Conference for European University Chaplains (CEUC) and the International Association of Chaplains in Higher Education (IACHE).

We will not send you any money, instead we will give you access to book at the reduced rate of £100 (or £125 if including the pre-conference). We can send you letters (via email) to help with the visa process, if you need a visa. Typically you'd need a Standard Visitor Visa that you can apply for 3 months in advance of travel: https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa (This link gives you all the information you need including the right-hand side of the page that explains all the steps of the process: you will receive a decision within 3 weeks of your application and the UK Border Agency charges £95.)

If you are awarded a grant, your conference place will have a guaranteed reservation until 23 April 2020 while we wait for you to book on by paying for the conference for £100 (or £125 to include the pre-conference). This will cover all food, accommodation and meals, you will need to fund your own travel. Please note there are tours on Wednesday; these are optional and some tours are free of charge, so if you want to book a tour that is charged for, you would need to pay for that as an optional extra.

We recommend you only book on once you have the travel arrangements, visa, other plans, acceptance of a paper or workshop and any invitation letters you need. You will not lose your grant or your place if this takes sometime, though because the number of grants is limited we may need to release your grant to another person in need, after 23 April 2020 if you have not been able to pay to book on by that point.
