Policy Statement:
Carlow Camp is fully committed to safeguarding the rights, safety and welfare of its participants and volunteers. We do this by:
1. Giving parents, children and volunteers information about Camp, what we do and what you can expect from us.
2. Making sure that our staff and volunteers are carefully selected, trained and supervised.
3. Giving parents and children the right to voice their concerns or complaints if there is anything they are not happy about.
Information on Camp:
Carlow Camp is a community based, non-profit making camp for 5 to 12 year old children in the Carlow area.
The Camp is organised by Carlow Regional Youth Services and is supported by DSP and Volunteers. The Camp could not run without the very large number of Volunteers whom we recruit from the local secondary schools and the community itself.
All volunteers must participate in our full 4-day training and must be over the age of 16 on or before Monday 6th July 2020. The training takes place the week before camp and entails leadership skills, Camp structure, Camp programme, team building and a variety of activities. Carlow Camp runs daily from 13th – 17th July and takes place in selected venues in Carlow. It involves an action packed week of activities ranging from drama, arts & crafts, sports, fun games, scavenger hunt, cinema and a day trip away.
