1. Approval of any application for accreditation is not automatic.

2. Media accreditation applications from freelance media and international media representatives will not be considered unless accompanied by a letter from their commissioning media outlet confirming that the applicant is working on their behalf and stating how the photos or article/s on the race will be used. Media accreditation will not be considered without this letter.

3. Depending on the volume of applications, we may be limited with numbers in the media centres and on media boats, so will not be able to accredit all freelance photographers with commissions. Accredited websites, magazines and newspapers can, as is usual, have access to photos through the Rolex Press Room.   

4. The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Media Centre in Sydney is located in the Sydney Race Village and in Hobart at the Mawson Pavilion, Constitution Dock, for all accredited media personnel. There will be limits on the number of people allowed in the centres.

5. These centres will provide wireless internet access, a limited number of desks and power for your convenience. The Sydney Media Centre will be open from 8am to 6pm daily from Friday 18 December, closing later on race days, and will shut down at 10am on the morning of Tuesday 27 December. The Hobart Media Centre will be open daily from 6am-7pm on Tuesday 27 December - Saturday 31 December and 9am-12pm on 1 January, or longer should it become necessary. The CYCA reserves the right to close the Rolex Sydney Hobart Media Centres at its sole discretion.

6. Positions on media boats for all Rolex Sydney Hobart related events and access to the Media Centres (in both Sydney and Hobart) will be restricted to working media only and places will be limited. Priority allocation will be given to daily news media.

7. Media will be required to sign in each day when they visit the Media Centres (both Hobart and Sydney).

10. You will be notified by email if your media accreditation has been approved. Your media pass will be available for collection at the Media Centre at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Sydney, or the Hobart Media Centre when both are officially open.

11. The media pass permits access to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Media Centre and the Race Village in Sydney from 18 December. The media pass also permits access to Mawson Pavilion and Hobart Race Village from 27 December.

12. Access to above-listed areas will be subject to capacity restrictions.

13. Interviews with Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race talent will need to be pre-arranged with the Rolex Sydney Hobart Media Team.
