The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program seeks approximately
20-25 evaluators for its annual post-semester university-wide assessment
process. All tenure-line faculty, instructors, graduate teaching assistants,
and adjuncts are invited to be involved, especially those who teach WAC-designated
and other writing-intensive courses.
The WAC assessment process will be held during the week of Monday,
May 6 – Friday, May 10 and Monday, May 13 – Friday, May 17. The first week
will be held fully in person in the University Center for Excellence in
Writing, GS 215. The second week will be held virtually on Zoom. The times will
be 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Participants should be comfortable using Canvas and Google
Drive and will be trained on how to use the online WAC assessment interface.
The compensation rate for your time and energy is $20/hour.
Raters with the most availability are preferred. Raters must commit to participate
for the full first week of Monday, May 6 – Friday, May 10. During the second
week of Monday, May 13 – Friday, May 17, full daily commitment is expected,
and raters may select in advance on which days they will participate.
Individuals whose scores are consistently out of range with the group’s scores will not advance from the norming to the rating session. Such individuals will, however, be compensated for their time based on their hourly timesheet.
