Summer 2023 - Junior Woodland Explorers Session - Booking Registration Form

Junior Woodland Explorers - 2hr session (Age 3-5yrs) Early Intervention support.

= £40 for 1 session or reduced price of £150 for 4 sessions when booked together.

- Thursdays: 10.30am-12.30pm

- 2 HR Sessions - 4 week Summer Term. - ONLY 6 PLACES PER SESSION

- At Empowering Little Minds we provide unique outdoor, multi-sensory learning experiences in our private woodland with currently 4 different woodland learning areas; Treehouse, Narnia, sensory willow garden & main woodland classroom. Each sessions follows a multi-sensory SEN teacher lead & Sensory/Emotional Regulation co-regulation model with a different thematic sensory experience each week to centralise all the music & learning through a variety of play activities.

- The Junior Woodland Explorers is perfect for children aged 3-5 years who are just starting to show an interest in learning & engaging with others to become more independent and adventurous in their play, to prepare them to starting pre-school, nursery, P1 or a Special Needs School. Some of our Junior Explorers are just starting to engage and communicate with vocalisations, while others use verbal speech or non-verbal PECs or Makaton forms of communication, but all speak the universal language of music, vestibular & proprioceptive movement, laughter, yummy woodland snacks & sensory/messy play.

Skills we are working are include but are not restricted to: building concentration & interest in others, interactive & imaginative play skills, emotional/sensory self regulation, exploring different sensory foods & textures, confidence building, working with others & making friends, communication, rhythm & coordination, fine motor-skills, arts & crafts, woodland natural crafts & behaviour support. Initially all multi-sensory activities will centralise around empowering all 8 senses but also following the preferred sensory needs of each child to empower them to regulate themselves more through the relaxing & grounding natural woodland environment.

-Children learn to self regulate & benefit more from all the activities when they are relaxed and have a familiar co-regulating adult near them therefore, initially to enable us to provide the Early Intervention co-regulation model for all little learners & to also enable staff to get to know each little learner, we request that 1 parent/guardian remains on site throughout the Junior sessions & actively joins in to help model & help engage all activities to their child.

- To ensure we can empower children as much as possible there is high staff ratio & a Maximum of 6 kids per group with 3 SEN staff.

- All payments are via bank transfer to: Judith Riddell. Judith will contact you with payment details when she can confirm you have a place in the correct class.

week 1= Rainbow Theme= Thursday 20th July - 10.30am-12.30pm

week 2= Jungle Theme= Thursday 3rd August - 10.30am-12.30pm

week 3= Starting School Theme= Thursday 17th August - 10.30am-12.30pm

week 4= Science & Space Theme= Thursday 24th August - 10.30am-12.30pm
