“A Train from Sligo to Dublin” led by Amir Abualrob & Sorcha Fox.
We are back again this year, with a series of theatre workshops across Ireland.
The First Stage:
The Open Call - Sligo, Galway, Limerick & Dublin.
This year we are looking to explore more stories. Using Cultural Resistance, Lecoq & Physical Theatre techniques and Music, we will be creating art and a statement, from our stories. We are looking to bring together stories from Trans, Queer, Women & Activist artists through a series of theatre workshops across Ireland. The workshops will be challenging, exhilarating, fun and safe.
We are looking for participants from these communities to join these workshops, to share their stories and collaborate with other participants, established musicians and artists. The goal is to create work that empowers and strengthens these stories. Through the techniques listed above, participants will explore their stories, the stories of others and the complementary or contrasting nature of same.
We have space for 4 participants in each workshop location - Sligo, Galway, Limerick & Dublin. Each participant will receive a small fee, as well as transport costs and a per diem for the week of their experience. These workshops will be facilitated for artists local to these areas and surrounding areas, over the age of 18.
Will you come on board?

These artists will offer further training in Cultural Resistance, physical theatre techniques and support during the devising, rehearsal and showcase of this work, at the end of week two. A small fee again will be paid as well as transport costs and a per diem for the week of their experience, accommodation will also be provided to those travelling to Dublin for this stage of the project.
