High Point University has generously allowed use of this beautiful county home as a retreat for HPU Faculty and Staff to study, reflect and relax. The Estate is not to be used as an event venue. No parties, private functions, loud gatherings or illegal activities are allowed. If you are found to have a private party or gathering, you will be fined $1,000.

Tax Liability: Under the tax code, the value of lodging supplied to employees is taxable to them as income. HPU has estimated the nightly fair market value of the benefit below. For example, if an employee has a 25% marginal tax rate and the fair market value is $199 per night, then their tax liability would be up to $49.75 or more per night. FYI, this figuring is an approximation only. Should you have any questions about the tax impact, please contact Armeka Ware at 336-841-9134.

Market Value: $199 per night

Upon notification that a faculty or staff member has used the Estate, Armeka Ware will include the economic value of the use in gross income of the employee.
