PURIMFEST 2023 Registration
WHOO- you're joining us! We're so excited to share in a weekend of inspiring, radical, creative, extravagant collaboration in ritual, arts, food, dancing, a shpiel, and general ruckus to celebrate the rich holiday of Purim.  With the Purim story comes questions about power, class, group identity, division, and, in OUR Purimshpiel, unionizing against the exploitation of the ruling class!  The theme of this weekend will be celebrating survival, exploring solidarity between and within communities who face threats to our cultures & lives, and taking joy in our existence.  The weekend will be FUN & SILLY, SERIOUS & PONDERING,  OUT OF LINE and IN STYLE, and will open and build us up to the culminating PURIMSHPIEL and SHVITZ DANCE PARTY on Sunday night!

This event is open to all, and in order to make it safe AND fun for all, we have a hard stop against racism, transphobia, homophobia, antisemitism, xenophobia, and any & all other oppressive habits/behaviors.  We've all been socialized in an oppressive society, but let's do our real BEST to leave the junk at home (and clean the house) so we can build something beautiful together.

We will be releasing a more detailed program of events and schedule in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes out and tell your friends!

With love,

<3 PurimFest!

How many people under 12 are you bringing with you? We're happy for this to be an intergenerational space but please note that some events are not created with kids in mind.
Please pay for your festival tickets via Venmo, Cashapp, or Paypal.  If you need another way to pay, you can say so below and we will reach out to you. Please put your name and the type of festival pass you're paying for in the memo/comment on your payment.

If this ticket fee feels like a breeze to you, consider donating a higher amount!  All proceeds will go to paying our incredible facilitators and organizers in a way that honors their talent, time, and labor.  If this ticket fee brings up financial concerns for you, please join us without paying.  Your presence will be contribution enough!

Volunteering!  This is our first year running this festival in person and we really will need many hands to make it run as beautifully as we're imagining! Please let us know if you're interested in volunteering below. Jobs will include food helpers, clean-up team, welcoming table, and childcare. We will check in with all volunteers about preferences, schedules, and accessibility needs. *
We will offer lunch and dinner on both days of the festival.  If you're joining for a meal, do you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies?
COVID:  We're still here! And unfortunately, covid is, too.  Here are our covid protocols: we're asking that everyone mask at all times while inside the JCA building unless eating or drinking.  We are also asking that everyone take a covid test and have a negative result each day of the festival.  We know this can be a lot for some folks, but we are hoping it allows everyone, including community members with compromised immune systems, to feel safe attending the festivals.  We will have covid tests and masks available for those who don't have them.  Please let us know below if there's anything else we can do to make you feel safe & comfortable re: covid!
