There are also 2 DSBN Regional SHSM programs ("Dig It" Horticulture & "Home Build" Construction) available to all DSBN students.  Please speak with Mr. Bruschke for more information on Regional SHSMs.

There are specific requirements in order for students to graduate from an SHSM program.

Students need to attain a minimum for four credits at the Grade 11/12 level within their area of specialization.  This is referred to as a credit "bundle".

Students also work towards achieving Certifications provided by the school, and they complete a two credit Co-op component, in their SHSM field of study, alongside the regular requirements for the OSSD.

SHSM students receive a special "Red Seal" diploma (yes, there really is a red seal on it!) at graduation, along with a SHSM record of their specialized achievements in their specific SHSM field of study.

Completion of this form recognizes that you are interested in working towards achieving a Red Seal SHSM diploma.  Guidance, and your SHSM lead teacher, will work with you to ensure that you are taking the right courses, and are meeting the requirements, necessary to reach this goal. This form is the first step!
