The Great Koala National Park Information and Visitors Centre Volunteer Application Form
The NSW NPA proposes to add 175,000ha of public native forests (State Forests) to the existing reserve system to create a 315,000ha network of National Parks across our region from the southern part of the Clarence Valley to the northern part of the Macleay Valley with the hub of the GKNP network being the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen Nambucca area.

It’s a big proposal based on science which aims to protect three identified meta populations of koalas estimated to be approximately 20% of NSW's koalas.  It would create enormous nature -based tourism and job opportunities for our region.

It will also see our precious native forests protected not only for regional koalas which are at risk of extinction but for our significant biodiversity, carbon storage and sequestration for climate protection, rainfall generation and water delivery to downstream users, soil protection and amenity.
