Menstruation is an integral and normal part of human life, indeed of human existence, and menstrual hygiene is fundamental to the dignity and wellbeing of women and girls and an important part of the basic hygiene, sanitation and reproductive health services to which every woman and girl has a right. (House et al., 2012).
Nonetheless, the situation in the world regarding menstrual hygiene still varies, with each country facing different levels of issues and taboos.
To think global and act local, we need resources for our advocacy efforts, and collecting data from different countries is essential for painting a clear picture of where the world stands on menstrual hygiene. This is why we are asking for NORAs of each NMO to fill in this form on how menstrual hygiene is addressed in your countries. The information we gather will be used to create an interactive map accessible to all IFMSA members.
The deadline to fill in the form is the 21st of May, 23.59 GMT.
