This form is for future 9th grade students. Please keep in mind a few reminders...
- Two years of Foreign Language is required for the Bright Futures Scholarship and for most colleges in the US.
- You will request your core classes based on the class you took last year.
- You will request extra elective classes as back up electives if your first choices fill up or are not offered.
- You will request elective choices in order of priority.
If you are interested in increasing your class rigor, but do not see an option available to you, please email your counselor and we can meet to discuss the class that is best for you.
Please note that administration reserves the right to place you in classes based on test scores, course grades, GPA, and teacher recommendations. It is therefore important to keep your grades up, and do well on state assessments.
Students who are not on track to meet graduation requirements, particularly with state testing, will be placed in additional classes to help them achieve graduation requirements. Please understand that these classes are for your benefit in order to meet the testing requirements for graduation.
The counseling department will briefly meet with students towards the end of the year to review course requests, as well as grades, test scores, GPA, and teacher recommendations, to verify that the course being requested is an appropriate fit.
