GMHA Membership Sign-Up

We’re advocating to end homelessness through more affordable housing. The Greater Miami Housing Alliance was born from the 2020 Affordable Housing Framework. The GMHA has over 100 active members, including residents, service providers, advocacy groups, government departments, housing providers, developers, and more. Miami-Dade is in a housing crisis. It takes the entire county to solve it. We create the space to have authentic conversations about problems and implement solutions. Our research and policy recommendations aim to create new homes affordable to those earning a wide range of incomes, preserve existing housing stock, and keep people and families in the homes they already have.

Here is a link to our 2023-24 Policy Platform. We have various meetings and working groups to elevate and implement this platform.

GMHA's Purpose Statement (2021)
The Greater Miami Housing Alliance will collaborate across sectors to advance equitable affordable housing solutions throughout Miami-Dade County. In order to meet our current and future need, we must create or preserve affordable homes for 210,000 Miami-Dade households by 2030. 160,000 of these homes should be affordable to renters earning 0-50% AMI. Another 50,000 homes should be affordable to owners earning 50-80% AMI. As an intermediate goal, we must create or preserve 12,000 of these homes in the City of Miami by 2024, per the Connect Capital Miami Report of 2019.

In facilitating the creation and preservation of affordable homes, we will also foster:

- ENGAGEMENT and EMPOWERMENT of communities and the people that make them strong;
- MIXED-income and -use communities that are more inclusive of those earning less than 80% AMI.
- RESILIENCE to climate change and climate hazards;
- RETENTION of residents to prevent displacement and preserve and build upon our neighborhoods' cultural heritage; and
- TRANSPARENCY of public processes.
Please confirm you reviewed, understood, and agree with our purpose statement. *
