Spoon Commune is a family-friendly camp where kids are welcome to camp with us and participate in camp activities.  We have a broad burner-centric, queer-centric, kink-friendly understanding of “family-friendly.” Ask for more details.
Clear selection
Any kids who will be camping with you? How old are they? (Extra grownups should fill out their own form.)
Spoon Commune is a "spoonie-centric" camp. For our camp, Spoonies are people with chronic illnesses, chronic pain conditions, mobility limitations, and neurodivergences. You do not have to be a Spoonie to join us; Spoonies are prioritized when making camp decisions. *
If you are a Spoonie, and if you're comfortable doing so, you can tell us here about your physical or mental complications with attending a burn. This is totally optional.
Camp dues are a sliding scale of $20-$50. You choose where you are on that scale, and we won't turn anyone away who absolutely cannot pay. We need lots of donated items as well; ask for the list. *
Spoon Commune may be placed in a high traffic area that may include proximity to sound camps.
Clear selection
Spoon Commune does not do "group meals". We will have a communal kitchen that all camp members can use to prepare their own food. We will have a "Charcoolerie" of ready-to-nibble foods for camp members to eat from at any time. *
Everyone pitches in. We have different jobs/roles to work with everyone’s abilities and comfort levels. We do not require anyone to show up in a particular way at a particular time. For our public and internal offerings the labor is “front loaded” and then runs smoothly without needing to staff specific shifts. But help is always needed, and everyone is asked to help as they are able.
*
Joining Spoon Commune does not negate Radical Self-Reliance. We want to make your burn life easier, but you are responsible for anything you NEED to be safe and comfortable. Shit happens – the generator might break, food might spoil, the weather might change. Prepare yourself with Radical Self-Reliance in mind, and then let us be those extras that make things a little smoother for you.
*
Camp "amenities" may include generator power, golf cart, shower tent, and/or portopotty. Use of these will be subject to overall camp needs that may change in the moment. They are not guaranteed. *
