How could we use non-violent direct action to demand a more responsible way to build our cities? In this evening school we will have guests from Elokapina – Extinction Rebellion Finland to talk about climate activism and civil disobedience. After an introduction to Elokapina we’ll open a facilitated conversation about the possibilities of non-violent direct action in the field of architecture and built environment.

For the conversation we have invited Elisa Lähde, Professor of Landscape Planning and Ecology at Aalto University and Panu Savolainen, Professor of History of Architecture at Aalto University, both of them also active in Elokapina. We welcome all the participants to join the discussion as well.

At the end we would love to form an affinity group for the built environment under Elokapina for people interested to act towards a more responsible way to build our cities. This event will be a great way to start your own activism, join Elokapina or just be curious and listen about the topic!
