Embodying Racial Justice- Level I- Fall 2022

This is the application for the Fall 2022 course on how to address white body supremacy and racism living in white people today, and to take action from an embodied commitment to end racism in our lifetimes. Especially if you are Jewish, queer or trans or hold another marginalized identity AND you are white, this is a place for us to do the learning together from the body up.

Is this for me?  If you are interested in learning more about your body, responses under pressure and capacity to work with other white people and people of color towards racial justice. You want to deepen in your somatic awareness, embodied practice and learnings.  If you are an organizer, consultant, trainer, coach or activist, this is a place for you to be deepening and building your commitment to racial justice.

This eight week course will build your capacity, embodiment and understanding of yourself as a white organizer working inside of liberation movements in the US at this time.  My work is based on my organizing experience in community and social justice movements and my training and teaching the Strozzi Institute.

The course begins on Monday, October 17th from 9--11 AM PT/ 12-2pm ET to be held online for eight weeks. The course will end on Monday, December 5th.

Course Promises:
* Building a somatic understanding of the body
* Developing embodied awareness through a catalog of somatic practices
* Deeper understanding of embodied anti-racist frameworks- accountability, contradictions, etc.
* Moving from old shape to new shape
* More access to aliveness
* Becoming more congruent, aligning embodiment, words and actions with our longings

Structure of the Program:
* Eight weekly sessions- 2 hours each
* Three coaching groups- 1.5 hours each
* Pre-work & curated reading list
* Embodied daily and weekly practices

The cost for this course is $500-$2,000 siding scale.  30% of funds will be sent to support black organizing. (My last group sent over $15,000 to BOLD - Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity.)
