The HISD Police Department needs your help re-naming their first-ever comfort dog, Jamaica.

A special breed with Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle parents, the hypoallergenic Bernedoodle is tasked with helping combat stress and anxiety in students and build trust between police, students, and the community.

The contest is open to all HISD classrooms. Each classroom may submit one name for the new pup. Students are encouraged to be imaginative and creative when selecting their name, but also remember that this is a working police dog and not a pet.

The winning name will be chosen by HISD Police. A draw will be held to determine the winner should multiple classrooms submit the winning name.
