Volunteers under 16 will not be able to handle dogs while the event is open to the public, but there are plenty of other ways to help!  If you are under 14 you must volunteer with a parent and will not be handling dogs.

Orientation is REQUIRED for all first time adoption event volunteers, and strongly recommended if you haven't volunteered in the past year!
We have two orientation options. We'll host one online the week prior to the event, and will have one at the event site on Thursday the 20th at 6:30pm. Please be sure to try to attend one of these. An informed volunteer is a GREAT volunteer!
We will most likely be doing a virtual orientation for new volunteers. Please advise if you will be able to participate. Specific date will be emailed!
If this is your first time volunteering your participation is mandatory. If you've volunteered in the past, please join us anyway as we are always evolving.

T-Shirts *
We supply event t-shirts for all volunteers! We have new shirts for this event so please make sure you let us know your size. (These are separate from 'Dog Team' shirts)
Interviews *
We've found it very useful to interview applicants prior to the event. Are you willing to help us with this process? We conduct these interviews virtually, so no travel required! (zoom, facetime, google chat, etc.)

We need volunteers throughout the weekend! We understand some can't commit to every day or all day, but it's preferred that volunteers stay through the day on SATURDAY to make the process easier. PLEASE consider helping us pack up on Sunday! We know it's not glamorous, but we are usually very short handed for pack up which is hard on the few volunteers that do stay. More hands make less work!

Are you able to foster a dog prior to the event, or after the event? We have a rescue sending up dogs a week before the event, and if not adopted can be picked up by transport the week after the event (10/15 - 10/29). If you can help with one of these dogs that would be wonderful. If you're willing to foster a dog that isn't adopted until we are able to find a new home (usually under a month but sometimes longer) please advise! *
