The Environmental Leadership Lab is a free two-day camping experience at the Common Name Farms in Lafayette, Colorado. The event will take place on September 7-8, 2024 and will feature hands-on workshops on environmental studies, sustainability, and wilderness skills. Participants in the ELL will join the Environmental Scholars program, which will provide opportunities to take on leadership roles in sustainability initiatives across the Mines campus and the wider community.
We are able to provide food, camping equipment, and transportation to and from (via carpooling) the Land Library free of charge. If you would prefer to provide your own equipment, or if you have a car and can take other students with you, please indicate this in the appropriate questions below. Your responses to these questions will not impact our consideration of your application to participate in the ELL.
As part of the community building process for this experience, you should expect to devote brief portions of your time to working with other participants to set up camp, prepare meals, and ensure a proper leave-no-trace approach to the campsite.
